Integrated assessment will comprise of both theoretical and practical components for the proposed qualification. Assessors will use formative assessments to assess foundational, applied and reflective competencies in combination.
The registered and accredited occupational qualifications each have three (3) Components of Competency, namely;
- A Knowledge Component,
- A Practical Skills Component, and
- A Workplace Experience component
Modules of the knowledge and practical skills components of the occupational qualifications will be internally assessed (through Internal Integrated Summative Assessments – IISA’s). The Internal Integrated Summative Assessments (IISA’s) will comply with QCTO and AQP assessment policies, procedures and standards. The latter approach will be implemented in consultation with the Assessment Quality Partner (AQP).
The occupational qualifications, registered on National Qualifications Framework, are assessed through a single External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA) that is coordinated by Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) and certified by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
